New Delhi: On Saturday, former Delhi deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia offered prayers and sought blessings at the Lord Hanuman Temple in Delhi’s Connaught Place with his friends and party workers.

Sisodia also went to the Mahatma Gandhi Memorial at Rajghat.

Delhi Ministers Atishi and Saurabh Bhardwaj and party MP Sanjay Singh accompanied the AAP leader when he was released on bail on Friday.

Posting images from the temple visit to his X account, Sisodia expressed gratitude for Lord Hanuman’s blessings and hoped that party chief Arvind Kejriwal would soon leave prison.

Earlier this morning, Sisodia posted photos of himself and his wife having the “first tea of independence.”

“First tea on the morning of independence…..after 17 months! The freedom that the Constitution has given to all of us Indians as a guarantee of the right to life,” he wrote.

Following his release from jail on Friday night, AAP leaders and family members enthusiastically greeted the former Deputy Chief Minister, accompanied by chants of “Bharat Mata ki Jai.” He visited Arvind Kejriwal’s home, met his wife and asked (his) parents for their blessings.

His release was welcomed by the party, which said that it was a shock to those responsible for the “illegal imprisonment” of AAP brass.

Notably, Sisodia’s release on bail has provided the party’s ranks new life. This is important because of the approaching Haryana Assembly elections at the end of the year and the upcoming elections in Delhi the following year.

The second-ranking AAP member, Manish Sisodia, was first detained by the CBI on February 26, 2023, and then two weeks later by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). In both instances, the Supreme Court made harsh observations of the investigating agencies’ actions while granting him bail.
