The diamond merchant Nirav Modi was further remanded to judicial custody until September 19.  He wanted in India in connection with the approximately USD 2 billion Punjab National Bank (PNB) fraud and money laundering case.

The judge expanded Modi's remand until September 19 during a brief remand hearing at Westminster Magistrates ' Court via video link from Wandsworth prison. Since his arrest in March in connection with the nearly USD 2 billion PNB fraud and money laundering case, Modi, 48, has been lodged in Wandsworth prison in southwest London. He appeared for the second time since the UK High Court dismissed his bail appeal in July.
