Niti Aayog CEO gets exten

Media Eye News Bureau: The government has granted extension to Niti Aayog’s CEO Amitabh Kant till June 30, 2019 in an order issued by the Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT). The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet headed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi cleared the extension to Kant.

Kant is a 1980 batch IAS officer of Kerala cadre and was appointed the Chief Executive Officer of Niti Aayog on February 17, 2016 for a two-year term. He was previously the Secretary of Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion. Prior to that, he was also the CEO of Delhi Mumbai Industrial Corridor (DMIC). He had also worked in the Ministry of Tourism and also led the Incredible India campaign as well as Kerala’s tourism campaign God’s Own Country.
