No need to get dejected

On Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed solidarity with ISRO researchers following the loss of communication with the ground station during the powerful descent of Chandrayaan-2's Vikram module leading to enormous confusion. "Communication was lost. I could see the anxiety on your faces. There's no need to be disappointed because it's not a tiny achievement. Modi was in the ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) Mission Operations Complex to observe Vikram's scheduled soft landing on the Lunar surface. Had the lander pulled off the historic touchdown, the nation could have joined in soft landing on the lunar surface with the US, Russia, and China. India might also have been the first to lower its lander on the moon's previously unexplored southern polar region.

"We have to learn a lot from your effort. As the scientists have told me if communication is re-established, it will send data. Let us hope for the best", Modi said. "My best wishes to you.
