West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee came back to home minister Amit Shah for saying a National Register of Citizens (NRC) will be implemented across the nation, similar to the one in Assam. Banerjee said she will never allow division on the basis of religion in her state. In the name of NRC implementation, there are few people who are trying to build disturbance in the system. We're not going to allow NRC in Bengal, "she said at a rally in Sagardighi, about 200 km from Kolkata. In his address on Wednesday in Rajya Sabha, Shah said there was no reason to worry about NRC for people.
