Oil Tanker with 22 Indian

Media Eye News Bureau: Minister of External Affairs recently stated that a ship, The Marine Express tanker, managed by Hong Kong-based Anglo-Eastern, carrying 22 Indian crew and 13,500 tons of gasoline went missing off the Benin coast in the Gulf of Guinea near West Africa.The Gulf of Guinea has become a target for pirates to steal cargo and demand ransoms.

The ship last contact was on 3:30 am GMT on Friday after which communication was lost. The cause of the loss of communication remains unknown and a search for the ship is now underway.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Raveesh Kumar and Minister of External Affairs Sushma Swaraj both tweeted about the missing vessel and also announced that they are taking efforts to trace the ship with the help of Nigerian and Benin naval authorities.
