New Delhi: Former Union Minister P Chidambaram's lawyer Arshdeep Singh Khurana wrote to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in reaction to a notice that the investigative agency had placed outside the Congress Leader's residence on Tuesday night. Mr Chidambaram is accused of enabling the government's clearance for a massive injection of foreign funds to INX Media as finance minister in the UPA government, for which his son Karti Chidambaram is said to have received b kickbacks.
On Tuesday, a few hours after the Delhi High Court dismissed Chidambaram's plea for anticipatory bail in the INX Media case, the CBI released a notice asking him to appear "within two hours" before the inquiry officer. A team of CBI officers visited his Jor Bagh residence but left after confirming that the former minister was not present there.
