New Delhi: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman replied to the continuing PMC Bank crisis on Thursday, stating the government is monitoring events there and will see what can best be done for the persons impacted. The Reserve Bank of India on Thursday increased the withdrawal limit from Rs 1,000 to Rs 10,000 in a relief to the crisis-hit Punjab & Maharashtra Cooperative (PMC) bank customers. "Other terms of the Directive shall stay unchanged. With the above-mentioned relaxation, more than 60% of the bank's depositors can withdraw their entire account balance, "the RBI said in a statement.
