New Delhi: Today, opposition Congress leaders in the Lok Sabha asked for a response from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on withdrawal of the Gandhi family's Special Protection Group (SPG) protection. Shah left the lower house when the members of Congress started to shout slogans, asking him to make a statement as to why SPG security cover had been removed from Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her children Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who said they were facing serious threats. The three are now covered under the class Z plus by the paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), which provides security cover for around 100 personnel. Leader of Congress Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury gave a notice moving an adjournment motion in Lok Sabha against the Gandhi family's removal of SPG protection. A motion for an adjournment is moved to postpone the house's proceedings to resolve the problem raised in the motion. The Speaker refuted this.
