On Wednesday the Supreme Court rejected the petition filed by 2012 Delhi gangrape convict Mukesh Singh against the President's denial of mercy petition. The three-judge bench of Justice R Banumathi, Ashok Bhushanpronounced the judgment, stating that alleged torture can not be a basis, all records were put before the President and he had taken them into account. Four convicts are scheduled to be executed on February 1 at 6 am, according to the death warrants issued by a Delhi court.
