Indian Army Chief General Bipin Singh Rawat said on Tuesday that he is hoping for the same bonhomie the allies had in the 70s and 80s with Kashmiris. Rawat said in his address that the security forces interacted ' normally ' with Kashmiris as they used to before and that nothing had changed after the repeal of Article 370, which gave Jammu and Kashmir special status. "The bonhomie we had with people in the 70s-80s, we want the same again. We were deployed there, and we used to meet without guns, and if everything goes well, we will again meet without guns". He said. Rawat's comments come just a day after Eid-al-Adha was celebrated peacefully across the state.

The Army Chief added that everyone is making precautionary deployment and people should not panic or be too worried about it. He ensured that the security forces are readu for any kind of negative action by Pakistan.
