A woman in Barwani in Madhya Pradesh filed a complaint with the police on Friday that her spouse threw her out of her house after three times uttered talaq, just three months after her marriage, police said.
Sendhwa town's eighteen-year-old Asma, about 350 kilometers southwest of Bhopal, said in her complaint that her husband Mahin Mansoori beat her on July 24, summoned her mother, saying he would not keep her (Asma) with him. Three times he uttered talaq and threw her out of their house. Police said she claimed her husband beat her several times in her complaint and asked her parents for dowry. She also claimed that for the previous three months she had been subjected to mental and physical torture.Police have lodged an FIR under section 498A of IPC and also The Muslim Women (Protection of Rights on Marriage) Act, 2019. Police are investigating the matter and no arrest has been made so far in connection with the FIR.
