Supreme Court on Tuesday declined to interfere with the request to lift telephone and internet constraints in Kashmir claiming there is a delicate situation and would not like to pass any order that would influence normalcy and lead to any loss of life.
During the hearing on a petition by Tehseen Poonawalla requesting curfew withdrawal, blocking telephone lines, internet, news channels and other J&K limitations, the apex tribunal said this.Representing the government, Attorney General assured the court that the situation in J&K is being supervised on a regular basis and that a phase-by-phase decision to lift borders is being evaluated based on the best interests of administration and peace.
Supreme Court has now posted the matter for hearing after two weeks.
