Patna: Union Minister Chirag Paswan was once again elected the national president of LJP(R).

Workers accorded a grand welcome to Chirag at Patna airport. During this, the Minister said he had been entrusted with the responsibility of the post of president of Lok Janshakti Party Ram Vilas for the second time. He thanked all the party colleagues and workers and assured them he would take the party to new heights in the next five years with full honesty and hard work.

Agreeing with President Murmu’s statement on the situation in Bengal, Chirag said it was a matter of concern. How the (RG Kar) incident was carried out shows the mentality of the people who committed it in this manner. Such people have no place in a civilised society, said the minister.

The leader of the Opposition in Bihar, Tejashwi Yadav, will hold a dharna on September 1 to protest the reservation and caste census in the country.

Chirag said that Bihar had already conducted a caste census. Chirag added, “Regarding reservation, our Prime Minister has clearly stated that the reservation provisions made by Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar will not be tampered with, so what is the point of doing politics after this?”
