India’s first female superstar recently bid adieu to her millions of fans. Sridevi, who died due to accidental drowning at the mere age of 54, was a graceful actress with an astounding filmography of almost 300 films in multiple languages.

At the age of 4, Sridevi began her career and ventured into films by debuting in the Tamil film Moondru Mudichu. She further acted in many notable South Indian films such as Moondram Pirai, Varumayin NiramSigappu, Pathinaru Vayadinile, Sigappu Rojakkal and Meedum Kokila among others.

What led after is something that cannot be described in mere words for Sridevi’s stardom skyrocketed when she forayed into Bollywood with her debut in Solva Sawan and further went on to star in stellar films such as Himmatwala, Tohfa, Sadma, Chaalbaaz, Lamhe, Mr. India and Judaai.

The Padma Shri awardee however, took a break from films, after her marriage to producer Boney Kapoor in 1996, only to return to the silver screen in 2012 with her film English Vinglish and in her 2017 critically acclaimed film Mom. Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming film Zero will see her in a cameo and a final appearance from the versatile actress.

She was an enigma, a combination of beauty and intrigue. A powerhouse of talent, she will be missed by not only Bollywood but also by her million fans worldwide as well.
