The cross examination of Finance Minister Arun Jaitley by Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal, which had begun in March 2017 after the Rs 10-crore defamation suit Jaitley filed against Kejriwal and five other AAP leaders, namely, Raghav Chadha, Kumar Vishwas, Singh, Ashutosh and Deepak Bajpai ended today.

Justice Rajiv Sahai Endlaw said that, “The trend of the questions put to the BJP leader shows the malicious nature of the cross examination. Sheer mockery is happening here.”

No senior advocate appeared for Kejriwal after the exit of two senior advocates, Ram Jethmalani and Anoop George Chaudhari.

During Jaitley's cross examination on behalf of Kejriwal, the BJP leader was asked whether he was aware about the unstarred questions raised in the Lok Sabha regarding illegalities in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) while he was heading it, Jaitley denied any knowledge of the same.

When asked about a 2013 report of the Serious Fraud Investigation Office (SFIO) regarding DDCA, he asserted that the findings pertained only to procedural lapses and there was no mention of any illegality or impropriety ever committed by him.

After the cross examination on behalf of Kejriwal concluded, Jaitley was cross examined by advocate Mehmood Pracha on behalf of AAP leader Sanjay Singh. Jaitley's cross examination on behalf of Singh is set to continue on March 19.
