Jyotiraditya Scindia, who quit Congress and joined Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), is the party’s Rajya Sabha candidate from Madhya Pradesh, figuring among the list of 11 probables from the state. Apart from 11 candidates BJP has allotted two seats to its allies. 
Jharkhand BJP state chief Deepak Prakash is being fielded from Jharkhand. Romilaben Bara and Abhay Bharadwaj from Gujarat and Udayan Raj Bhosale from Maharashtra are also contesting for Rajya Sabha seats on BJP ticket. The party will support Republican Party of India-A's chief Ramadas Athawale for one seat in Maharashtra.
Vivek Thakur is BJP candidate from Bihar, while from Assam, the party will support ally Bodoland People's Front (BPF) leader Biswajit Daimary for one seat, party leader Bhuvaneshwar Kalita will be fielded from the second seat. Rajendra Gehlot is the party candidate in Rajasthan.
The list of candidates was finalized in a meeting of the party's Central Election Committee on Tuesday which was chaired by party President J.P. Nadda, and attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and other senior minister and leaders.
