Rio+21 water cooperation programme launched

A Mumbai NGO has launched the Rio+21 International Year of Water Cooperation India Program among youths   and students to promote water cooperation and sustainable development, an official said here Wednesday.
 
"The Rio+21 IYWC India Certification Program has been launched by the Indian Astrobiology Research Centre for Science & Culture (IARC) and targets students, youth and corporates," said IARC head and scientist Pushkar G. Vaidya.
 
"The United Nations General Assembly declared 2013 as the UN International Year of Water Cooperation. India has dedicated it as a Water Conservation Year," said Vaidya.
 
"The initiative will include audio-visual aids, workshops and competitions related to water and its conservation and take the Rio+21 message to the farthest corners of India," he added.
 
All participants will get certificates with the official IYWC and logos of UN Decade for Deserts and fight against Desertification (UNDDD), medals and national recognition in the Hall of Fame in the reports to the UN and Indian government.
