The twists and turns in the Karnataka politics reach to a next level as chief minister BS Yeddyurappa quits just before the trust vote in the assembly.

There were talks that the BJP government may fail to pass the floor test amid the missing of two Congress MLAs from the assembly in the morning. Congress alleged that they were held captive by the BJP who desperately required numbers to pass the floor test.

Meanwhile Yeddyurappa who was credited for the resurgence of BJP in the state after a poor show in the last assembly election, delivered an emotional speech in the assembly.

"I travelled the entire Karnataka for the last two years. I cannot forget the love and support given by the people. People blessed us with giving 104 seats. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Amit Shah made me the chief minister. Did you ever see the Prime Minister announce the chief minister candidate before the election? I became the party president in 2016. The Congress and the JDS lost in the election. The governor the invited the BJP as we are the single largest party", Yeddyurappa said.
