Patna: At least 32 individuals have been killed, including females and kids, and more than a dozen have been wounded in the last 24 hours in lightning strikes across Bihar, an official said on Wednesday.
Eight fatalities were recorded in Jamui, seven in Aurangabad, five in Banka, three in the districts of Bhagalpur and Rohtas followed by two fatalities in Nalanda and one death in the districts of Gaya, Munger, Katihar and Araria.
"The state government has ordered ex-gratia payment of Rs 4 lakh each to the kin of those who lost their lives," said an official of the Disaster Management Department.
