Amaravati: The chief minister of Andhra Pradesh, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, said today that "humanity" was his religion after he said that some people questioned his faith. "Some people have questioned my religion and caste in recent days. It's painful for me. I want to tell everybody that humanity is my religion and that keeping promises (in the election manifesto) is my caste," he said. After the inauguration of a new health scheme "Post-operative Support Allowance" at the Government General Hospital in Guntur, the chief minister addressed a meeting. Opposition Telugu Desam Party, BJP and Jana Sena recently criticised the visit of Mr Jagan Mohan Reddy to the temple of Lord Venkateswara near Tirupati, claiming that he had not followed the hill shrine procedures when non-Hindus entered.
